"MY RESERVATIONS ON MAGU'S MODUS OPERANDI" - Hon. Kelechi Nwogu

Hon. Kelechi Nwogu, the member representing Omuma constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly has expressed discontentment with the way the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is prosecuting the war on corruption. Especially regarding the discovery of $43M in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The lawmaker stated this in an article published in his social media page titled "My Reservations on Magu's Modus Operandi".
It reads:

"We all saw on our TV screens and social media platforms the live coverage of over $43m been discovered in an Ikoyi apartment via a sting operation by EFCC, the question of why an anti-graft agency like EFCC would make an operation like that public when proper investigation has not been carried out, is a topic for another day. We were all expecting to hear the name of the owner of the money the next minute, but surprisingly all we have been getting since last week is poorly scripted and disjointed drama.

We have gotten about five contradicting names as alleged owners of the money from Sahara Reporters, and yet no single word from EFCC that started the drama. We have seen NIA brought in to control the damage caused by yet another failed propaganda. We also heard CBN deny giving such money to NIA.

There were also report that Rotimi Amaechi is the owner of flat 7A that the money was found. Rivers State Government also came out to say the money belongs to it being part of Amaechi's loot. Just yesterday we were told that, the presidency that even Babachir doesn't know has suspended NIA boss and Babachir that was cleared by the same presidency in January. All these indicate that the drama is not ending anytime soon.

The questions I want to ask are these:-

* What kind of whistle-blower will know about stolen money and won't know the owner?
* Has EFCC become so clueless that it can swing into action with press men and live coverage in an an operation it hasn't gotten complete information on?
* Does that mean occupants of a sophisticated and modern building like Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos don't have certificate of occupancy that is taking for ever to disclose the owner of the money?

There is more to this Ikoyi money than meet the eye, but Nigerians are watching with keen interest as the drama unfolds. We don't want the name of the whistle-blower, all we want is the name of the owner of the money because, we believe that the whistle-blower must have told EFCC everything it needs to know.
