Akpabio said “The committee shall be known as the National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party.”   However, Sheriff insists that the decision at the convention is not binding, because he suspended the convention due to numerous court actions against the event.   Inuwa Bwala, the spokesman to the embattled PDP chairman, who spoke to Premium Times, said “Immediately the chairman (Sheriff) received another court injunction, he called a meeting of the National Working Committee and told them that it wasn’t safe to continue with the convention of the party,

In a statement Sunday signed by its spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo, MEND said it had carried out “rigorous and robust analysis, debate and review of political events in Nigeria within the past 12 months; particularly as they affect the Niger Delta region” and resolved to continue to respect the ceasefire declared May 30, 2014 against key economic interests of the Nigerian State. The group said the “painful but necessary resolution” to respect the ceasefire was borne out of its belief that as President Muhammadu Buhari marks his first year in office, he deserves more time to stabilize the country that, it was “run aground by the ill-fated, corrupt and visionless immediate past administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan which pauperized

No sacrifice is too much for anyone to make as far as PDP is concerned.” “We will not allow the PDP to die or suffer divisions under our watch. History will never forgive us if we watch the party die.” Also speaking on the development at the convention, a member of the House of Reps, Johnson Agbonayinma, said the dissolution of the National Working Committee, will help reposition the party. Exxon Mobil declared a force majeure on the country’s largest export grade Qua Iboe, traders said on Friday. The outage adds to production problems at two of the other largest crude streams, Bonny Light and

ABSURD: Isreali man files restraining order against God.

A man in Israel apparently doesn’t want God to answer his prayers, so he’s filed a restraining order against the Almighty. The plaintiff, identified as David Shoshan, appeared in a courtroom in Haifa on Tuesday demanding that God stop interfering in his life, according to NRG, an Israeli news website. Shoshan told the court that over the last three years, God had been very negative towards him, though court documents didn’t detail any specifics, the Times of Israel noted. Shoshan said he has tried numerous times to obtain the restraining order through the police department, but in response, only received 10 police visits over a 36-month period. That’s why this time, he tried to go through the court instead. Court documents noted that God did not present himself at the hearing. The presiding judge, Ahsan Canaan, threw out Shoshan’s request and called it absurd. Canaan suggested Shoshan should get help from someone besides local law enforcement, according to NRG.
