It’s normal to see a lady go on lavish vacations in exquisite locations with no single dime in the pocket. (Or purse). For am man to be able to afford the same trip he may need to work his socks off for some months (or years, as the case may be). And sometimes he may need to collaborate with some friends in order to chest the expenses.  But here we have a female without a job, a skill or source of income of any sort making these trips multiple times. Simple because she has a pretty face. This example explains the basic concept of the infamous pretty privilege; which I never knew was a thing until recently. Now, don’t get me wrong. We attend “Leadership Summits” and Trainings so often, where we are taught how to be leaders. We are taught characteristics that make people leaders and made to believe that only people who become leaders get ahead in life. As a result, we tend to look down on certain people whom we believe do not exhibit these characteristics. However, one truth we all must embrace sooner rather than later is that WE CANNOT ALL BE LEADERS. But it does not mean that we cannot make meaningful impact or indeed be successful. A 34-year-old man, Solomon (surname withheld) killed his 11-year-old son for sleeping with his 8-year-old sister in the Tasha Gwagwa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

  Residents of Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi state have been thrown into mourning following the discovery of the dead body of a 17 year old man who allegedly committed suicide over a failed marriage proposal. According to a press release by the State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, the Victim, Usman Abdu, who hails from Ganja ward in Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi State committed the act on the 13th of May 2016 at around 9pm by hanging himself on a tree with rope.   A man has been charged for forcing his step-son to commit suicide because he had bad breath.  The 42-year-old man identified as Akira Murayama from Tokyo, Japan bullied his step-son constantly over his bad breath. He also beat the 14-year-old boy identified as Yuito repeatedly.  One morning, the boy's mother found her son hanging above his bed.  She called for help, and the boy was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. At the hospital, medical personnel found bruising all over the child's body.  Yuito's mother told police that her husband told the boy to kill himself within 24 hours. Murayama was arrested and charged to court where he admitted to beating the child, but denied telling the child to commit suicide. He also admitted to forcing the child to wear a mask because of his bad breath. The 'miracle' recovery of Mary Ann Franco, who lost her sight in a car accident in 1993, is puzzling doctors. A woman who was been blind for more than 20 years has regained her sight – after falling over and hitting her head at her home in Florida. Mary Ann Franco, 70, gradually became blind after injuring her spine in a car accident in 1993.   Then, more than two decades later, another accident and a subsequent operation appears to have led to the recovery of her sight, although doctors are still trying to work out how exactly this could have happened.    

A man in Israel apparently doesn’t want God to answer his prayers, so he’s filed a restraining order against the Almighty. The plaintiff, identified as David Shoshan, appeared in a courtroom in Haifa on Tuesday demanding that God stop interfering in his life, according to NRG, an Israeli news website. Shoshan told the court that over the last three years, God had been very negative towards him, though court documents didn’t detail any specifics, the Times of Israel noted. Shoshan said he has tried numerous times to obtain the restraining order through the police department, but in response, only received 10 police visits over a 36-month period. That’s why this time, he tried to go through the court instead. Court documents noted that God did not present himself at the hearing. The presiding judge, Ahsan Canaan, threw out Shoshan’s request and called it absurd. Canaan suggested Shoshan should get help from someone besides local law enforcement, according to NRG.

Betty Mbereko, a Zimbabwe widowed woman has gotten married to her son. The woman and her son say in love they are with each other and now they have taken their incestuous relationship to the next level and gotten married. What makes it worse is that the mother, Betty Mbereko is now six months pregnant and expecting her son’s child, and her grandchild. Betty, 40, has been a widow for the past 12 years and has been living with her 23-year-old son Farai Mbereko. She confirms that she is six month pregnant and that she has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her. Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, according to naij.com, has been accused of allegedly collaborating with Kosovo, Turkey, Croatia and other countries to carry out human organs trafficking. Teachers at Matshitsholo High School, Ulundi, South Africa, arrived yesterday morning only to be confronted by angry parents threatening to bury them alive in coffins because they are lazy and selfish. The parents said they came to show the teachers how serious they are about their children’s education. One of the parents said: “They are no better than ghosts, so we will bury them alive” According to Daily Sun SA, the parents are demanding the immediate removal of the teachers. They said the teachers are expected to be teaching pupils during school hours, but instead use the time to rest or take care of personal matters. “You are putting the future of our children at risk,” said the parents. There was shock and amazement in Ikugbomire in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, on Wednesday as a woman was delivered of a baby from a pregnancy she had carried for four years. People trooped to Alayo Vantage Hospital from far and near for a glimpse of the miracle baby. Before she was delivered of the baby, the happy mother had become the butt of taunts and ridicule in the community, particularly after a scan conducted on her protruding tummy indicated that all she had in it was fibroid. Speaking with SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday, the parents of the girls, Miracle and Testimony, expressed optimism despite the condition of their twin daughters born on November 16, 2015, who are joined at the groin. The father, Segun, 35, explained how, despite his initial reaction of trauma, his faith gave him the courage to pull through. He said, “Naturally, you would be a little bit traumatised. A church in the German capital invited “Star Wars” fans to attend a special service Sunday themed on the sci-fi blockbuster in an attempt to attract more young people into the pews. About 500 people heeded the call and attended the service, some carrying light saber props or wearing Darth Vader masks. It was more than twice as many as usually come to Zion Church on a Sunday. “We were very happy to see so many people in the church today,” said Protestant pastor Lucas Ludewig said after the service. “It’s great that there are subjects that people are interested in. It sounds like tale by moonlight but it is indeed a verifiable fact that a woman was delivered of a live turtle and a padlock in the presence of thousands of worshippers during a church service in a Lagos church. Ugly Pageant judges have crowned a new winner of Zimbabwe's 4th annual "Mister Ugly" contest, upsetting supporters of reigning champion and prompting claims of cheating. Judges on Saturday chose 42-year-old Mison Sere, citing his numerous missing front teeth and a wide range of grotesque facial expressions, over William Masvinu, who had held the title since 2012. Masvinu and his supporters mobbed the judges upon hearing their decision, claiming that Sere was "too handsome" to win and his ugliness wasn't natural since it was based on missing teeth.
