LAST BORN PRIVILEGES. By Lesley Chimezie

Image
One time we were on Christmas vacation in Bonny, my maternal home, and my sister and I got into one of those useless and baseless fights that have no head or tail . Well, in the course of the fight, we pushed over some stacked up crates of malt and soda that our granny was selling. No less than 3 crates of drinks were damaged and only a few bottles survived. At that point, our mum jumped in and rooted out her rod of correction to beat the spirit of fighting and destruction out of us. But our grandma stepped in just time to rebuke her. Granny warned her not to lay a finger on us. Instead she rewarded us with plates of fresh fish and asked us to share the remaining bottles that did not break. That was after she made sure that neither of us was injured in the fight. Those who had tough parents can relate to this. If you grew up with strict or disciplinarian parents then you would agree with me that your parents strictness softened with time. You can attest that the way they were tough on ...

Presented by Nweke, Emmanuel Onyekachi PhD (FCAI/ACIA/ACIMPN/FABS/MNI/MCSR) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The paper cursorily examined E-Governance and Effective Task Delivery of Staff in public institutions in Nigeria, a select of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola Port Harcourt. It sees e-governance as luxury in part, and a necessity in the other. The paper considered that public institutions such as the listed area of concern could implement e-governance to enhance its staff effective task delivery. An Address Presented by Nweke Emmanuel Onyekachi PhD (Event Chairman), during the Ogbakor Etche Easter Convention held at Eberi Omuma, on the 21st of April, 2025.

Established Protocol PREAMBLE It is with great sense of privilege that I address you today, my great people of Etche ethnic nationality, one of the most revered ethnic nationalities in Rivers State and Nigeria. The two local government areas that make up our nation, have been in the forefront of the prosperity and image boost of our dear state. We are a people known for peace and hospitality to ourselves, neighbours and tenants. The theme of this year’s Easter Convention, ‘ Land Grabbing and Insecurity in Etche Nation ’, is not only prompt but a clarion call to forestall image harm and foster prosperity in our dear Etche nation. Land grabbing could mean a forceful or fraudulent acquisition of land asset of a community by government, individuals, and usually in large scale. Land grabbing leads to environmental damage and social unrest or disturbance. There have identified causes of land grabbing. One of such causes is historical falsehood or absolute or partial history or denial. ...

Image
It is Easter week and very soon we will start seeing terribly curated dramas and plays aimed at depicting the journey and events of the cross. One common theme all of these plays and drama is the suffering that Christ had endured before and during His crucifixion as well as His death and the significance they hold for us today.

Much Ado About Supreme Court Judgement

Image
There has been a lot of noise that has greeted the judgement of the Supreme Court favouring the candidate of the PDP in the last guber election and Governor of Rivers State, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara against the candidate of the APC, Arc. Tonye Cole. Unfortunately, some of those celebrating seem not to even understand why they're celebrating. A lot of them have made the FCT Minister the subject of their celebrations like the victory at the Supreme Court was a victory against him. This set of people are either delusional or simply politically naive. Following the outcome of the 2023 general elections, His Excellency Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, successfully retired RT. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and sent him into political oblivion. Why then would anyone think that he would bring him back to political relevance by supporting Amaechi's candidate and business partner Arc. Tonye Cole to become governor via a Supreme Court Judgement? A good warrior wins a battle before g...
