How Christmas Can Affect Your Family. By Ugochi Oritsejolomisan

The Christmas season is truly a very wonderful time of the year. The entire globe has a great bounce to it and the atmosphere experiences a monumental change. Excitement fills the air, everywhere you turn there seems to be bustling activities of celebration. Family and friends unite, children home from school, giving and receiving gifts…
However, many people allow themselves to get all worked-up this season. They allow pressure, anxiety, worry, unhealthy comparisons and competition make them lose the joy of the season.
They worry about everything from where to go, what to eat, what to wear, decorations and all of those kinds of things. And it mostly comes down to financial pressures.
I know so many people hardly have even what to eat this season and they are most likely to worry…But I am not talking about these people right now. I am talking about the average couple who can put at least a decent meal on their table for Christmas.
"When couples  stress during the  Christmas season,  they lose the joy of it all."
Couples must keep more focus on the reason they are celebrating and less on the “things” they want to celebrate with or the “size” and “style” of celebration.
Both husbands and wives can be guilty of this. Wanting to over spend in a pursuit of grandiose celebration, they put so much pressure on their spouses and family, both financially, emotionally and physically.
Soon there is exhaustion, anger, irritation and tension as a result of their inability to take it easy and just enjoy the season with their family and friends.

It Is Not The Things.
This is a season of hope and joy, let’s not do anything that will drain joy from us or our loved ones. Let us celebrate this season within below our means in order to be able to be a blessing to someone else or another family.
It is not the things that make the season joyous, it is The person we are celebrating that does. We are celebrating JESUS, The Hope of the world, The Joy of the world, the reason we are living and breathing.
Let us be content with the blessings He has giving us this year and make up our minds to celebrate Him in satisfaction as we stay grateful to Him for our spouses and family.
Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 1 Timothy 6:6NLT
Couples do not have to break the bank to  enjoy Christ or  Christmas!

Share His Love.
Remember to budget for others as you get ready for this Christmas celebrations. Bless another couple and/or family and put a smile on their faces this season.
After all, we celebrate because God gave us a priceless Gift in His Son, He shared His son with a dying world, we too should make sure to share Him with others as we give in love and as we tell about His love too.
