RSUST Holds 28 Convocation Ceremony.

The Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, wishes to inform members of the public that the 28th Convocation Ceremony of the University for the Conferment of Higher and Bachelors’ Degrees, Emeritus Professors and award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Prizes to deserving graduands shall hold on Saturday, 9th April, 2016 at the University Convocation Arena.

Those involved in the convocation are graduates of the University who completed their programmes in the 2014/2015 academic session.

The programme of events for the convocation is as indicated below. All graduands are hereby advised to note the events and ensure that they participate in all activities.

A.) Day 1. Sunday, 3rd April, 2015

1.) Interdenominational Thanksgiving Church Service
Venue: Chapel of Redemption
Time: 10:00am

B.) Day 2. Monday, 4th April, 2016

2.) Collection of Gowns, Brochures and Scrolls
Venue: Faculties/Departments.
Time: 9:00am – 4.00pm

C.) Day 3. Tuesday, 5th April, 2016.

3.) Collection of Gowns, Brochures and Scrolls Continues
Venue: Faculties/Departments.
Time: 10:00am – 4.00pm

D.) Day 4. Wednesday, 6th April, 2016.

4.) Exhibition
Venue: Amphitheatre
Time: 10:00am

Russian transgender woman to serve jail term in mens prison.

  Authorities rejected Dmitry Kozhukhov, 25, who just change her name to Alina davis, plea to serve in a women's prison because she is still registered and ‘physically’ a man. They insisted she should serve her two month sentence for driving with a fake licence in a male prison. A police spokesman said: "Kozhukov aka Davis is a man according to his documents and as a result he was sent to a male prison." Dmitry before transgender operation When she asked if it was possible to at least get a single cell in the jail she was also refused, with the prison service saying they did not have any. She is now sharing the jail cell with four male prisoners in the city of Egorievsk in western Russia’s Moscow region. When she was arrested over the drugs charges, police decided not to keep her in custody because they could not work out which type of cell to give her, but now after the second offence they have acted and told her she will go to a male prison.
