‘Governor Fayose is dangerous and a threat to the law,’ APC says

Peter Ayodele Fayose

Fayose had reportedly accused Buhari of plotting to islamize Nigeria while speaking during a ceremony in Rivers State on Friday, February 26, 2016.

The Ekiti APC issued its reaction via a statement released by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

The statement reads:

“We know Fayose as a devious schemer in the game of subterfuge with uncanny capacity to stoke public rage against his innocent opponents.”

“He is deliberately engaging the President relentlessly in his uncouth outbursts so that when the Nigerian law is being applied to take care of his many crimes against the state, he can then start his propaganda that he is being haunted for criticising the President.”

“If anyone is guilty of religious bigotry, it is Fayose who did not deem it fit to consider Muslims for appointments in his administration whereas he gave Christians almost 98 per cent of the appointments into the State Executive Council, parastatals and boards.”

“We have on several occasions raised that alarm that Fayose is dangerous and a threat to the Nigerian law and stability of the society. A desperate business man that has made a whole state a trading post is deliberately engaging himself in conducts not befitting of a governor for a purpose and we counsel Nigerians to see him as a rabble rouser bent on sabotaging Nigeria’s unity for his private comfort.”

During a Thanksgiving ceremony organised by PDP in Rivers state on Saturday February 27, to celebrate the supreme court judgement that cinfirmed Gov. Wike's election, Fayose accused the president of plotting to islamize Nigeria.

“Rivers State is the soul of Nigeria and it is governed by a man who fears God. Your people will never go to Egypt. I want to appreciate the Supreme Court which was courageous enough to clear the mess.
“We have all summoned courage. They have deceived us to take our inheritance. We are going to get our inheritance back. I want to say one thing; they have started again.
“I want to reveal one secret here; they have started subtle moves to make Nigeria an Islamic nation. But God will not allow it. This was done in 1984, but it failed. I cannot run away; I am Ayo Fayose. If you hit me, you hit trouble, if I hit you, you will be in trouble.
“Nigeria is a free nation and this nation will not be taken for an Islamic nation. Today, I decree the return of a PDP government in 2019. They (APC) are here by chance, they will go by chance,” . Fayose said.
Fayose has also criticized Buhari over his frequent trips abroad and called him a dictator.
