Reason why Atiku Abubakar is returning to PDP

Perceived insincerity by those he thought were on the same platform with him to form the once hyped Mega Party APC may have been the real reason why former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is going back to PDP, according to sources that spoke with Saturday Vanguard. Former Lagos Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Osun state Governor Bisi Akande and former head of state, Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Olu Falae and Balarabe Musa's noncompliance with the necessary changes required for the formation of the Mega Party that will make all members equal has left former Vice President Atiku Abubakar standing alone and might be the reason why he is considering return to PDP. Our source revealed that “ Atiku Abubakar was left standing alone in the Mega Party because others refused to comply with the necessary changes that would bind together all the political groups that were part of the Mega Party Summit Movement. It is also claimed that ab initio, the Mega Party Summit Movement wanted to use the AC platform but the owners of AC refused to make it available for the party. We planned to retain the AC logo, then dissolve the NEC, have a new national office, dissolve the leadership of AC and organise new congresses so that everybody coming from the parties would have equal rights but the owners of AC would not accept that. The report we got the National Executive Committee said that AC is not ready to succumb to Mega Party changes. Another source accused the owners of AC of holding on to their party, and even recalled that was the reason why the former Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu never showed interest in either the AC or the so-called Mega Party from the onset. Kalu from the beginning reckoned that AC is Tinubu's party and decided that since Tinubu is using AC to push for the political interests of the South West, it would be better for him to find his own platform and that was how he muted the idea of Progressive Peoples Alliance , PPA, and that was also after he has seen that the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA was beginning to have leadership crisis which affected their performance in 2003 and 2007 general elections. Kalu had said then that if Tinubu would use AC to watch his back yard, he ( Kalu) was also going to use PPA to watch his own backyard.
