Gov. Wike talks tough ahead of rerun elections. Dares INEC/Presidency.
Rivers State governor continues talking tough ahead of the state and national parliamentary rerun elections.
Governor Nyeso Wike who was speaking at thanksgiving service organised at the St Peters Anglican Church, Rumueme, Port Harcourt to mark his victory the Supreme Court this Sunday allegedly told a crowd of worshipers that;
“If you like bring your Boko Haram soldiers to Rivers state, I will enter INEC office on election day, let me see who will push me out”
Last week, the governor during a meeting with civil servants at the State Secretariat Complex challenged President Buhari to come and conduct the elections by himself, repeating his earlier controversial death threat to INEC officials.
“I hear that they are bringing a new Resident Electoral Commissioner, I say if they like let Mr President come and conduct the elections, we will even prefer that it will be Mr President that will conduct the elections”
Governor Wike who got a thunderous ovation and shouts of “high tension” from his supporters as he delivered what looked more like a warning, reminded the officials of INEC who intend to rig the election to prepare their will before coming to conduct the March 19 elections.
Tension is already building in the state as the March 19 date for the parliamentary rerun draws closer. Only last week Chief Tony Okocha who is the Obio-Akpor federal constituency candidate of the APC reported to security agencies that supported thugs of the PDP have begun to destroy his campaign billboards mounted at various points in the constituency.
